Well, the USPTO’s website is not exactly the easiest thing to navigate, but one way or another I have finally managed to file my provisional patent application. OK, I did have to call the help line and have the guy walk me through it, but still, I finished it!!
It has been about a 2 month process since I started writing the patent. It is no easy undertaking for a novice, and this is just for the provisional patent that doesn’t even get checked by the patent office. Still, doc came out to 10 pages and was as detailed as we could get.
Hopefully this will set us up in the right position to soon file our non-provisional patent in the next 12 months. We will certainly be using a patent professional at that point.
All in all it feels good to get that out there but it is just one tiny blip on the path to starting a company. Patents are only actually useful if you have the power and finances to defend them… so lets hope it doesnt actually get to that point.
Either way, I will soon be able to state that I am a US patent holder. And at least that is something to be proud about.
Something isn’t go right when u have to eat ur turkey sandwich w a knife and fork. Is it even worth it at that point? http://bit.ly/10BY951
Well, here is my first attempt at commenting during a Man U game. It was a great match between two top teams. I like Tottenham and support them against just about any other team besides MU. Either way, here it is… hope u like it:
:09 - A strange lineup that MU have gone with. Three central midfielders with Carrick, Cleverly and Jones. Its feels a bit contrived. Then they have Kagawa and Welbeck on the flanks? Like I said, a bit weird but if they can all move about freely and interchange positions, then it might create some real opportunities. All very comfortable ball handlers at least.
:14 - Rafael continues to impress and further stamp his position on that right fullback position. I love to see him storming up that sideline.
:14 - De Gea - always parrying the ball right into the opponent’s path. His decisions of how to deal with these low shots has not been good as of late. If you are going to pare it away, make it towards the end line, not back into the field of play!
:15 - Tot look composed tho too. Comfortable on the ball.
:17 - Evra sure has his hands full with the speedy Lennon nipping at his heels.
:18 - Cheeky play on the throw in with Bale. I don’t understand why more players don’t have a long throw. I’m not a big guy but I could hurl the ball at least 30 yards on a throw in. And i knew at least 2-3 other players who could do the same on my teams. Why can’t these pros utilize the long throw better?? Down near the box it is almost as good as a corner.
:21 - Yellow for Carrick. Lets be honest, he deserved that one. It looked like he had gotten the ball at first from the initial angle… but clearly he did not. It leads to a dangerous free kick, but was guided out to a corner.
:22 - I love watching the shoving matches that go on against the keeper during corners. There is no other time where there is such blatant pushing, back and forth, that simply goes on without a word.
:23 - Awww cute, a little blanket for AVB’s cold little legs!!!
:26 - Van Persie is a goal machine!!! Left foot, right foot, head… it doesn’t matter what part of his body; if he is around the net and gets a chance, it is going in!! Perfect ball by Cleverly as well.
:29 - Really nice football by MU, moving the ball from out of danger to attack. 1 touch passing from box to box.
:32 - Hmm… missed call by the ref as Kagawa pulled Dembele down. Looked clear to everyone else but he simply waved to carry on.
:34 - Looks like Kagawa and Welbeck have changed sides, part for the free flowing style this lineup promotes i suppose.
:37 - Ooohhh…. good ball by Carrick into Welbeck but a great job by the defender to shield him away. He was almost in at goal there.
:40 - Harried play there by Tot. Well hit shot by Bale with his right foot but De Gea up to the task of keeping it out. Bit of a scramble, but Man U no worse for the wear. Ooh, that deflection off of Ferdinand could have easily been decisive, but fortunately for MU De Gea is lightning quick.
:44 - Inventive play between RVP and Welbeck, but eventually it comes to nothing. Looks like the slick pitch is not hampering the clever little touch passes that MU love so much.
:Half Time - Solid opening half by MU. Tot staying tight though. Both teams have looked sharp, aggressive and positive. Mostly a midfield match so far, but entertaining nonetheless.
:47 - MU start the second half in the same vein, attacking and creating.
:51 - Hoo hoooo…. Dempsey had a chance, a clear chance on goal from just 7 yards out but hit it right at De Gea, who was able to get enough on it to deflect it out wide. An important save by the Spaniard. but i must say, if Tot do in fact score, I wouldn’t want it to be anyone but Dempsey to do it.
:54 - If Scott Parker was not fouled, but then he purposely grabs the ball with his hands, shouldn’t he be shown a yellow?
:Dembele is certainly a classy figure in the central midfield, but he has been quiet since moving to Tot. I haven’t heard his name mentioned but once in the last few months… At Fulham he was the star of the show… but is he now just another fish in a big white sea?
:60 - Phew, Carrick defending Lennon. Lennon is very shifty and quick - but Carrick stood his ground and made a fine tackle to win the goal kick. Lennon seems to move very fast, but go nowhere at the same time.
:61 - Talking of Rooney coming on, i’m sure it is for Kagawa. Ah yes, and that has just been confirmed. Also, another touch on throwins, i love how referees don’t even care if they are poorly taken these days. And Evra is more guilty than any other as his back leg almost always seems to come off the ground on follow through. But if the ref doesn’t care, then why would he??
:66 - Intensity of the game is starting to pick up now. Can feel the crowd getting more anxious and Tot feeling the pressure.
:68 - Great run and far post ball by Rafael, Welbeck just couldnt get enough on it to steer it goalward.
:70 - Looks like Welbeck got it in the nuts… Oh, nope, just in the side - he’ll be fine.
:72 - On the Rooney penalty chance, the announcer says “certainly didnt touch him”. Is he freaking blind? Caulker took both Rooney’s legs out from in front of him and got nowhere near the ball. Given it was still somewhat of a soft challenge, but I wish commentators would open their eyes a bit more than their mouths when speaking sometimes.
:75 - Valencia is on for Cleverly - whom I thought looked sharp again today. Put in a solid performance, gives life to the game whenever he’s able to get involved.
:78 - Yea Rio!!!!! What a brilliant block that was on the clearly open Defoe.
:81 - MU defense is starting to open up. Tot getting more and more chances.
:84 - Good d by Jones - he’s had a solid game on both ends.
:86 - Jeez thats brave by Ferdinand to stick his head out to that Bale strike.
:89 - Snow really coming down heavily now. More used to seeing American Football in these conditions, not European.
:92 - Wow, how many blocked shots is that in the last 15 mins for MU?
:93 - Oh no, are you serious!?!?! Tot with the late equalizer. I guess i called it earlier that Dempsey would score it. Damn, believe MU gave up that last minute equalizer.
Ok, we are already seeing some good results. Stomach is trimming down a bit, cardio is improving loads and recovery is faster and faster. Did my second fit test last night, even with a cold coming on… and improved on every activity.
